Author Topic: I have a problem.  (Read 774 times)

I seem to not be able to stick to anything I do for a long time, except this doesn't apply to the internet itself. I usually find myself excited with anything I find for the first week or so and then I pretty much get bored with it and blow it off, then I end up getting bored since I never feel like doing it again. This happened with Piano lessons, pretty much every online game I've played, game creation, schoolwork, roleplay, and the list goes on.

I need to find something that will keep my interest, either that or find some way that keeps me from being easily impressed and quickly bored.

And I fear I may do the same thing with my Minecraft texture pack. And remember that MouseMania thing I showed you guys a while ago? Yeah.

because you dont value hard work. you go through life expecting fast easy rewards.
the effort itself can be entertaining. but you learned to hate effort.

Many people are like this.

The initial excitement of starting something is huge. Once you actually get to work on it, the sparkle dies-- especially in projects that require a lot of hard work, your perception of what it would be might not be reality. You just need something to keep you motivated probably.

If you're having trouble staying interested in something, it must not be what you really enjoy doing...

Cool story bro. Like, really.[/sarcasm]

Anyway, I have the exact same problem and this is what I think it is.

I disagree with what Bisjac wrote. Just sounds like an antagonistic view on a common issue for most people.

well why sugar coat it? life isn't about making people feel better about their failings.

No, I just think you are wrong. Its hard to stay motivated. Its not laziness and wanting things quickly. Not exactly sure what quick reward you'd expect from roleplaying.

It's the new world!

I was bored with the sax at first, but I grew to like it a lot.

YEAH clans especially. Whenever I start a clan its exciting to set it up and host it and get members and plan all these fun things. Then all the members look at you for what to do and its like NUUUU I did the work you figure it out. :C
