Author Topic: Your school's computers  (Read 2035 times)

Well, I am just curious. its kind of fun to see what kind of computer your school has, and mine has plenty of different ones. here are some photos from a tutor room.

first off, an old macintosh LC III. Yes, it is still in use. And it was made in 1993, and has a 25 MMz Motorolla processor. This is one of the oldest computers in the school.

a mystery IBM, there are about 4 more of these in this room:

lastly, and IBM Personal Computer 300 GL, with an early Celeron proccesor.

there are many others, such as macbooks, other ibms, a few dell optiplex's, and a few Imac G4s.

Discuss your school's computers.

Sorry for the weird images, but I switched from ImageShack to FileSmelt after the 3rd picture due to some problems with ImageShack. My classroom has 3 computers (emacs) and all the other rooms follow the same pattern.

how big is your school?

My school has stuffty Vista Dell's that are probabbly slower than the ones you listed.

I'm wondering how that Mac can still be used for anything worth a damn :o

Brand new lenovos motherforgeters

In my school (~600 people grades 9-12) Almost ever classroom has 20+ computers. They are pretty new Dells. I think the specs were OK
like 2 gb of ram, pentium processor, Terrible, TERRIBLE graphics card. 8 mb of Vram lol.

Dell Somethings that were downgraded to hell.
Plus, they have no graphics card at all so I cannot play any games from my USB.

My school has those half-computers with a small LCD monitor sitting on top. Luckily, they're relatively new, are all black, and run on some modified Windows 2000.

Quite good for school computers, when upgraded fully and on W7 like these are.

My school has the latest iMacs and a few old eMacs kicking about, along with the latest MacBooks and the odd iBook.

Why are American schools so cheap with computers :U

Still haven't changed...

Schools PC's are mixed.
Everything is from 2003 and beyond, and the only updated stuff is in the two computer rooms, window's 7 in there.
Everything else is XP.
