Author Topic: Descent Gaming Laptop?  (Read 709 times)

I'm a man that prefers laptops over desktops, primarily because of mobility.

I got this crappy laptop as a gift not too long ago.  This one: stuffty G56 141US Laptop

I'm going to sell my Xbox, because I've tried gaming on a computer, I personally like the experience more. So I want to save up for a better laptop.  I've looked at a couple, but I know nothing about computers other than what a graphics card is, so I'm asking you guys to judge between these two laptops for me.

Asus Laptop

Toshiba Laptop

Sorry for my ignorance.

I might.. just get the same one you will.. because I am looking for a gaming laptop too c:

Although they're both overpriced you'll be getting more bang for your buck with the Asus Laptop.

Based on the specs list the Asus comes with more Ram and the bus speed is faster. It also has a better video card from what I can tell at a quick glance.

IMPORTANT EDIT: The Toshiba also has a really crappy processor. 1.6ghz

Personally after glancing over the two (and I'm not a tech nerd, this is just a normal person judging) I think the second looks better.

Plus it has a Bluray drive. Awesome.

I love you so much. <3
Now I know what laptop I need.

Clock speed for a laptop really isn't that important. My M11x with a 1.3 GHz (OC'd to 1.7 GHz) can run everything on my STEAM games list on max settings.

I've heard the 1.06 GHz i7 for the M11x is even faster than the Core 2 Duo at 1.7 GHz.

However, the ASUS one does appear to have a better GPU and more RAM, so go with that. Or build a godly desktop PC because you won't be able to take that anywhere without it dying within an hour and being too bulky.

1. It's not just about looks.

2. Bluray is useless in my opinion. I see no difference. I mean who even plays Bluray on a computer?

I'd say the Asus.

I guess but mine is a tri core 2.4ghz which is pretty decent. I guess it probably has something to do with the disabled core.

1) Not literally. I'm not that dumb to just look at two computers and see which is better.

2) Bluray is awesome. It's a bonus imo.

1. So why take it into consideration at all? That's why I hate people who buy Alienware just cause it looks "purdy".

2. How so? I do believe he's more of a gamer rather than a one to buy overpriced HD DVDs and watch movies on his computer when he can watch it on a fullscreen TV. The Bluray isn't worth the downgraded specs.

Alright, I'm going for the Asus, thanks guys.
