I'd like to see how the UK would have gone through a nuclear war, they have lots of coal, so they might actually have power up and running and establish a cool yet minor steampunk theme.

My guess is they melted.
Iceland probably ended up flooded.

It would still be possible to live in antarctica. There are quite a few rocky areas there. Even with the flooding, it didn't do that much damage to the world. If it did, Fallout 3 wouldn't be possible.
