Author Topic: Blockland freezes on start-up.  (Read 2522 times)

(yes, I've searched for this with no helpful results before posting)

When I launch Blockland, it starts up as normal.

It initializes Base, it reads the programs, it starts openAL...then freezes.

Here's the last 4 lines of the console.

This has only been happening recently, and I can't start up blockland. I've re-installed, restarted, updated all my software (especially sound), everything, but to no avail.

Has anyone else has this? As far as I've searched, no one has posted getting this problem. How did you fix it? Thanks in advance.

One week bump.

Apparently it's an issue with Flash.

So, I'm playing Blockland, I go to the bathroom and suddenly it's closed.
I launch it, and this same problem happens again. I say "damn, I'm going to wait it out".
I go on youtube, load up a video, and it instantly crashes my browser. "Adobe Flash has crashed!"
I click "Help" and read that this happens when "flash isn't updated".

I say "Ohh, I have to update flash to play Blockland. And Garry's Mod. And GTAIV. And 3/4ths of other things on my harddrive."

I click "Plugin Check" and "Flash has a new update!"

*installs new update*
*Installing...*
*Installing...*
*Installed successfully!*

*launches Youtube*

"Flash has crashed - update needed!"

Plugin Check...
"Flash has no new updates."

I restart my computer...

launch Blockland...

"OpenAL driver init:
OPENAL"
*crashes*

Launches youtube...
"Update needed!"

So I click "CHECK FOR UPDATES (ALL SOFTWARE ON THIS COMPUTER)"

*Scanning...*
*Scanning...*
"No updates were found for your computer!"

This is getting on my nerves. My computer completely freezes up for 5 minutes if an advertisement using flash pops up on the screen. I can't launch any program but the internet itself (which is a gamble considering 3/4ths of things on the internet use flash), and it goes on and off for a few weeks at a time. I'll be able to do something other than forum browse sometime in June.

Did you reinstall flash? It might work.

I feel for you man

I looked on the blockland FAQ and I got these two ways to fix this however each failed

If this fails, re-install the game and choose not to keep your old add-ons when the installer asks you. (Failed)

Right-click on "Microsoft eHome Infared Transceiver" Select "Uninstall" - this is completely safe to do. (Failed)

I tried everything, reinstall, restart and infact force quitting won't even close the blockland window, its like pernamently frozen on my screen until I restart.

Maybe you shouldn't install so much warez.

Have you tried uninstalling mods if you have any.

Have you tried uninstalling mods if you have any.
I would, but I can't access Blockland, and I haven't installed any new mods or gamemodes in the past month.

Maybe you shouldn't install so much warez.

Maybe you shouldn't install so much warez, mister.

Maybe you shouldn't install so much research, mister.

My Blockland, when I run it, has an infinite Mission. It loads it completely and just loops the load. I click the window it says Blockland (Not Responding). This problem started 3 days ago. I let the game sit for three hours and it just keeps looping. Any ideas?

I also used my Norton security thing to scan it and it said no viruses found. I'm confused.

Seems alot of people have this mysterious issue... lol

Run a full scan. Maybe it will find an unusual virus stopping you from running certain programs.

You do not have enough RAM(random access memory)to run your game just buy some and install it.
