Author Topic: Clarinet Lessons Troubles  (Read 1518 times)

Ok so, as some of you know I play the clarinet. At my school I take lessons every Friday and there's also this band which I HATE.

Last week a basically quit saying I didn't want to do it anymore, first I asked if I could ONLY do the lessons but they said 'No.'

The thing is, it's only official till I get a note signed it.

So basically should I properly quit or go back? I HATE the band but the lessons are ok. It would also mean handing my clarinet in to the school so I'd lose it and most likely never play again.

My parents think it's sort of missing a good opportunity but at the same time they realize if I really don't like it that much I need to quit.

What do you guys think?

Stay in, you're learning skills for free.

Oh I forgot to mention.

It's £200 a year and the band is at lunch times (don't fret though, it's not the only reason I hate it, in-fact only about 20%)

remember

you'll be famous some day, and people will be eating out of your tentacles.

Well if you want to learn the Clarinet, you're going to have to stick with it unless you can afford your own.

The thing is, I don't know if I want to learn clarinet and I REALLY can't imagine myself having job in clarinet playing.

I'm so confused :s

I play clarinet
keep trying. You can play some awesome stuff on it

I would know

Stick to it.
When I originally started playing a saxophone, I didn't like it very much at all.
But now it's really fun for me, will help out on my college applications, and marching allows me to not have to take LLF my next and last four years of public school.

If you somehow manage to buy yourself a clarinet, you could learn it on the internet.

But I guess not. I say you try to convince your parents again.

Try to convince them what?

You should just practice at home and annoy your neighbors.  Especially if one is fat and lazy, and the other is immature and annoying.

Screw clarinets.

You should play this awesome piece of something instead.
