Google translate can translate better then you

I'm not going to insult anybody in this thread, so I'll kindly ask you to read the Google Translation result of the below webpage and then determine yourself if you really plan to trust it all to this alpha-stage translation tool.

I was trying to learn Japanese through Rosetta Stone for a while but do you think another method for learning the language would be easier?

Oh hell yeah, of course there is, Rosetta Stone is complete stuff. While I have yet to actually learn the language and as such by no means an expert, I have compiled quite a collection of links on it.

http://www.sf.airnet.ne.jp/~ts/japanese/

Start off by studying this thoroughly, while it should by no means be your be-all-end-all resource for your studies, it'll get you pointed in the right direction.

After which, I would suggest glancing around on this site, especially in the Particles section.

By now I'm assuming you know enough to figure out where to go from there, so I'll drop a few more helpful links to get you started, good luck.

Not necessarily Japanese translation, but do you know what is the name of the sushi roll that is basically just a rice cube with a shrimp laid on top of it?

Mmm. Ebi. <3

I hated Rosetta Stone because all it taught me was just touristy stuff. I'd pick up a kanji dictionary, and a few books on grammar structure and how to write the characters/read them.

Learn the basic grammar like how subject and verb are usually switched. Then learn how the language works, such as how a sound is a character. Then memorize the whole alphabet and you're set. :)
Guess that's easier said than done. I'm lucky I grew up around the Japanese language. :D
