Number one rule of parkour:

If you learn it in a gym without the knowledge of outside, You won't be able to do it. Personal expeirience.
This.

Lumpy concrete is much more rough on your hands than lovely smooth concrete you get in gyms. You've got to toughen up to withstand doing it in the streets.

If you have to ask people on a game forum, that probably means your arent strong or fit enough for parkour, just because you bought mirrors edge doesnt automatically make you a giant spidermonkey.

yeah before you even try parkour you should be extremely fit
people that say "yeah i do parkour sometimes its pretty cool yeah uh huh" don't REALLY do parkour. it's something you'd have to practice all the time to maintain. or they consider parkour just jumping over railings and running.

I do a little parkour, I can climb a ladder in 5 secs, I can also scale a wall about my height, in about 10 secs.

that's not parkour. if it takes you 10 seconds to get up a wall your own height... that means you're normal. climbing ladders is also quite normal behavior.

I once jumped ontop of a moving car.

I feel sorry for the people in the car.

Also OP plays too much Mirror's Edge. マホ~

My and my friend were at school really early and it was just pretty much us. Our school has a stuffload of walls, fences, and obstacles, it's the perfect place. I was chasing after him, I'm pretty good at that stuff. :o

I used to be a hardcore parkour kid in elementary school with my friend. We didn't know wtf parkour was though. We used to climb on top of those big metal things that hold all the equipment can't remember the names, we would do frontflips and backflips off them, we would do backflips off swings, we would do backflips off the playground bridge. We were actually insanely good for 5th graders. I can't even do a frontflip or backflip now and I don't have near as much guts as I did. Also I almost got suspended because the proctors kept telling me to stop doing backflips and I'd try to sneak it by when they weren't looking.

What does back-flipping have to do with parkour? マホ~

It doesn't. I can't even think of one good reason to do backflips in parkour besides to make it look cool.

Am I the only one who thought of the episode on The Office?

Parkour! Parkour! Parkour!

Nope.
That was hilarious.
