Sir, there are a few cheep headsets out there, not the best but they work.  (Or you could get a 7.1 Platronics headset with metal and sturdy plastic casing, like mine)

Doesn't even need to be a headset, just a mic.

I know, but there are usually cheaper headset then mics, also, I find that having a mic sitting in front of me gets anoying.
