Author Topic: My audition *IS TODAY*  (Read 1126 times)

I'm auditioning for a role in a show at a theatre in my area. They're doing 3 shows for the summer:

Wonderland - based on the Lewis Carroll story thing...

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat - not really interested at all

Tommy - I REALLLLLLYY WANT TO BE IN THIS

That's why I'm singing a Who song, not one that's from the show (because that's a general theatre rule that you don't audition with a song that's in the show you want) but I've wanted to sing it for an audition for a long time. Anybody know Behind Blue Eyes? I'm gonna sing the first part that's not rockin' even though I love the whole song.

As for a monologue I'm doing one about this kid that's having a really good day and everything and all this stuff hapens then his teacher tells him to zip up his fly. I always do funny monologues, so I think the directors will like it.

Any suggestions or anything? I'll post me singing the song eventually if you really want my to, if not I would understand...I'm not that great imo.

Discuss, I guess, just thought I'd share this with you guys and gals.

Are you a lovey red-hot motherforgeter? まほ~

I've heard that monologue before, it's quite funny because you don't really expect it.

It's quite lolzy. I love it.

Massive bump because my audition is this Thursday...

Um, thanks, I guess.

Wait, so one would use premade "monologues" for auditioning?

I see. Thank you, I'll let you guys know how it goes on Thursday up until I get cast, if I get cast at all. Might as well follow it through, since it's kinda pointless to know I have an audition and then not know if I got the part or not.

Well, you're not going to write one yourself. I mean, you can, but it's easier to just spend your time memorizing one. Typically it's from a play, or an individually written monologue in my case.

So you all know, a monologue for an audition would technically be a soliloquy. :D

Super bump....it's in two days and I'm barely ready :C

I'm heading off for my audition in about an hour, and damn I'm nervous even though I've done this practically a thousand times.
