Author Topic: Hard drive speeds  (Read 1476 times)

I'm about to buy a 2 TB Hard Drive. The reason for it being so cheap is because the HDD speed is 5400 RPM.

The current hard drive I have is 7200 RPM, but it's only 650 GB. It is also dieing. Would I notice a huge decrease in speed on the computer or will it not matter that much?

Look up the models and the associated read and write speeds. That's a far better way to judge if one will be significantly slower.

It shouldn't be a huge difference, but honestly hard drives are so cheap now you should be able to get a 7200 rpm for not too much.

Or... You could buy a 100,000 RPM at the B.M for 30$, it's only 5 T though.
