Author Topic: Too many TDMs?  (Read 1254 times)

I've noticed that there are alot of FPS servers running amuck in Blockland but that isn't the problem for me. The thing is; I'm ok with some TDMs to play and challenge your buddies or other people to who can blast the crap out of each other with rockets or bullets or whatever but it's the gamemode that makes it all bland.

The TDM gamemode is just point n click till you get enough points, but eventually it gets boring and their everywere.
(Yes I know thats the standard for all matches but why not spice it up with a few control points or a cart to push?)

What about the other gamemodes we have? Why don't people use them?



Yeah, like an actual objective.
CTF, KOTH, Cops and Robbers, those actual objectives make TDM very fun.
I think there's a good enough zombie servers out there.

The problem is, as stated by "alot of FPS servers", most are usually weak servers that are mostly "boring" and "bland".

What are you looking to see?

I'm just glad they're not hosting CityRPs anymore. I don't think the TDMs will drop off any time soon, because it's the map that defines the game-play, rather than the game-mode.

Making said DM hectic as forget works well too.

I would host CTF TF2 but CTF wont work :C

so i just host a TF2 server

its still fun in tthe end though because you need to get unlocks and theres a bunch of classes

20's would have been cool, with all the gangsters.

I was thinking about this:
Make a more strategic TDM.

Quite big build, multiple neutral capture points.
2 teams with both 1 capture point.
If team main base capture point gets captured, round end.

Capture neutral bases for more strategic stuff like vehicles weapons, ammo depots and more.
Only accesed by team that has it captured.

That would be really fun but would require a lot of planning and brain power to whoever made it, I wouldn't want some average DM-building blocklander to go attempt this project, it'd be awful...
I could see someone like RKY doing it successfully

Was hosting my Afghanistan Build TDM Like everyone else does.

It includes events for locking points and detecting captures, but I haven't seen anybody put them to good use yet.

Yes, there's a lot, but there are only like 2 good TDM's. I'm currently building my own but it's more detailed and better than most.
