Author Topic: Windows Vista Acer Screen Issue  (Read 1192 times)

My parents computer's screen will no longer show, for the past few days the screen did not show. The best I could do is shutting off the power to the computer and the screen (which is also connected to the printer), and switching on the power and the computer and hope it would work, It did. Until today the same sequence does not work, the computer works and runs normally, but the screen will just display "No signal". When the computer screen ran normally, the computer would beep. Now it will no longer beep upon start up.

The computer is a Windows Vista, the manufacturer is Acer, the computer is about 3 - 4 years old, and has never got a bluescreen of death.

Any suggestions for fixing?

is this a desktop or a laptop?

The one with two screws on it? Already checked, its in tight.

does this comp have a video card you upgraded in it, or has both a video card and an onboard vga plug?

Try the monitor on a different pc.

I dont have a different pc. I got a laptop and thats about it.

Unless a TV screen that I doubt would work.

Connect it to the laptop.

Connect it to the laptop.
I don't see a port for that. Besides, I am using the laptop.

Look again.

If not, I don`t know.

I think I would have to take apart my laptop to get to the cords.
I avoid that.

No. It will display on both screens.

How 'bout a tiny TV screen?
