Author Topic: Help: PC turns on in the middle of the night (Read 2965 times)

I have been looking for days now and seem to be unable to fix this issue.

Everyday my PC turns on while I am sleeping (between 1Am - 6Am) and everytime I wake up I c it on. It's not a virus (I hope not) since I scanned my PC like twice now, so it can't be that. I DO have my PC set to "Wake On LAN" but it should only wake if I send the command no? (Via LogMeIn and/or Net Checker for iPod).

Is there any way to specify what wakes my PC or is it a trade off I have to deal with when WOL is activated?

I use a P55 ASRock MB with Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit, I would really appreciate it if someone would help.

You probably have some type of alarm clock turned on without you knowing.

My richard is scheduled to scan for children every 9:00 PM and it doesn't work to turn it off! it gets turned on whenever it sees a child

My stationary computer's BIOS supports it turning on daily/weekly/monthly at a specified time. Try checking if you have something like this turned on.

I need my PC connected with power so that when I send the WOL command, it turns on. Last thing I need is to be unable to turn it on

Do you know the specific name "Like WOL for Wake On Lan" so I can see if I might have accidently left something behind?

you may have set it to defragment or something like that at that time. sometimes wol goes at apestuff that's probably the culprit. try one night without that on and see what happens

A lot of computers perform a "Tune up" every night at 1am.

I would check that.
