My avatar won't become transparent.

I use GIMP 2.6 and my avatar is supposed to be transparent on the sides. I see other users' avatars can be transparent, but mine just seems to be black underneath. I use ImageShack to link my images but for this one I upload them directly from my computer.

If the image isn't within 75x75 scale, the site resizes it itself. When it is resized by the site, it loses transparency.
