Author Topic: Help, mega virus D:  (Read 918 times)

I was surfing round the internet and suddenly, it closes and some program called "XP Total security 2011" comes up and says a bunch of things are viruses. Its obviously fake cause i've never downloaded it. It disallowed me to surf the internet, but a site told be how to bypass that, but I really want to know how to remove it, most sites are straightforward with it :/
Can someone help please?

System restore?

Safe mode w/ networking and download Malewarebytes.

Scan and clean, done and done.

Lol, I have this on my laptop and am too lazy to get rid of it atm. I'll probably do this over spring break or something, but all you need to do it load malwarebytes onto a flash drive (the install file) and insall the program on the infected computer IN SAFE MODE. Then viola, clean comp.

listen to me carefully now son, you're in hell and I'm gonna walk you out. Find a way to download

RKILL: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/anti-virus/rkill

MalwareBytes: http://www.malwarebytes.org/

RKILL will kill the virus process, but it might not be allowed to open up because the fake virus will block it. If that happens, download the alternate versions, all found on the RKILL download site. Once RKILL has done it's job, Install MalwareBytes and update it, run a full scan and let it get rid of anything it finds.

Once my school sold me this digital camera at a book fair and its software was a worm. :o

do virus checks, if none work, go to www.bleepingcomputer.com and post something there.

I really need to start writing this down in txt file. Go into your C:\Windows\System32 folder, then find the file taskmng. Copy it and paste it to your desktop. Rename it to something random like "raawdawdawd" and open it. After its open go to your processes list and find something that looks like the virus. Kill the process and then go online and download maleware bytes or use your preferred virus protection program.

Setup for Malwarebytes isn't opening. :c Also its called "nxj.exe" on task manager.

They were trying to inspect your computer secretly.

Did you kill the nxj.exe? If not you could try setting it up in safe mode as stated above.

If miki's methods don't work. There are 3 methods left.
http://www.techsupportforum.com/forums/ - The admins won't stop untill they get your problem fixed. However. The site is usually busy. It will take awhile to get someone to help.

Send your computer into a repair shop - If you want to pay money you can do it this way. - Last resort option #2

Reformat your computer - Also last resort option. #1

Note: If reformating your computer does not work. You have an Rootkit Therefore reformatting your computer will do no help at all.

Reccomended Action: Go to the tech support forums. It will take awhile but it works.
