Author Topic: Blockland Wiki  (Read 3460 times)

Hi, everyone. I was thinking of making a new Blockland wiki. I realize that there are already two Blockland wikis, but I noticed that one is more about clans whereas the other is more about add-ons. I was thinking that I would combine these two things into a new wiki with its own website and no ads. What do you all think? Please tell me your thoughts in the comments and/or in the poll.

Wiki's don't work here.
Too many people think they're cool by destroying written articles. The community is more interested in damaging the wiki then contributing to it.

I wrote an article that got vandalized several times on a Blockland wiki before someone deleted it entirely and cleared the edit history so I couldn't recover it.

If these wiki's aren't proof enough it doesn't work, think of Return To Blockland. That wiki didn't work out and closed-- if they can't sustain one its probably sign enough to not bother.

The RTB Wiki had so much potential :c

But I must agree with Icy.

Only wiki admins should be able to delete articles and delete edit history.

This

So do you think that it would work if only admins can delete articles and if edits have to be approved by admins first?

Idiots will be idiots. Butthurt friends will be butthurt.

Then it wouldn't be a wiki now would it.

edits have to be approved by admins first
No, but only admins can remove/edit revisions/history, anyone should be able to add revisions.

It would, wikipedia works that way.

DontCare4Free's idea might work.

About wiki syntax, how about going with Markdown?

An admin should need to approve the edits for them to appear. That way, if someone makes a stupid edit, it can be denied.

That is what you have revert for.

If any of you guys remember, I did have my own wiki put up. It's still up, but I never got the help I needed to start adding articles. I would be willing to let you help however, but this proves it's hard keeping a wiki up.

Backing you up.

That wasn't even a wiki. Also, decentralization is a good thing.
