Author Topic: PC fan keeps turning on high.  (Read 609 times)

Title says it all. My PC fans keeps on turning on high every now and then. Then when I play games its on for about %70 of the time? It has never done this before. It has been getting warming out where I live so is it just adjusting or what?

The fan is to cool the computer off.
Therefore
COOLANT FAN + FASTER SPEED = MORE COOL
Do the math and you tell me.

If it is just now happening. You should try cleaning out your computer with a can of compressed air.

Its been doing it for a while.

I agree about cleaning the internals out.
Fans will always be on during gaming obviously as you know. Have you been running anything recently that also may put strain on the CPU or GPU?

No, I haven't changed anything ever scene the fan thing started.

Which fan is it? A cooling fan or a GPU fan?

I dont really know. It sounds like the fan that turns on when I start my PC.

...lol

all your fans turn on when you start up your PC

For me, though, my GPUs' fans have always been loud.

My GPU fan is also a little on the loud side.

If you have a low powered card (which I assume not since you mentioned you do gaming) or if you have switchable graphics and use something like an Intel card, the GPU will probably get hot really quick if anything heavy runs (even desktop elements perhaps) so that might be why. If not... meh, I really don't know. :I
