Mongolia is a country, but nowhere near third world status. Should be a fourth world status made, just for them.

i have a feeling none of you know anything about mongolia

for your reading enjoyment: information!!

Littledude's simple world.

^and forget antarctica, no one even goes there. just sink/melt that stuff.

"lulz i havnt herd about them in american news so they must be really stuffy!!! just give them to russia and china! who cares if they want to or not it would make the map look nicer!!"

also lord tony's comment is pretty true. they're not busy loving over their government/doing other crazy stuff so we don't hear about them. it's a good sign, really.
I use BBC as my news source, so if you're trying to say that America's news sources are not credible I don't give a stuff.

Also, "About 20% of the population live on less than US$1.25 per day." I think they'd benefit from living under a different government then they're own.

Because economic output totally equals to the well-being of the citizens. If they are content this way, why forget up? Who are you to question their right of self-determination?

I didn't know the Russians living in Siberia were Chinese, or that the people living in Thailand and Vietnam were Australian, or that Germans were British, or that all of South America is Argentina apparently.

Damn, thank you for educating me!

I'm just saying it seems like they wouldn't be able to live at all. I doubt that they are  content that way.

A lot of mongolian people live in small rural villages and far-out places which aren't necesarrily easy to reach.
A fair amount survive on their own terms, by hunting foxes and fishing.
They're not a country that the people require superpowers and money to survive in.

They're not third world because they're not exactly a sickness struck, or tyrannical or poverty filled country.
But they're not a large super country either.
Mongolia has it's own thing going on at the moment, and they're quite happy with it.

Atleast they're not silent and toying around with nuclear weapons, like certain other eastern countries.

You appear to forget the part where the image is sattircal and directed at Littledude and his world views.
I apologise for making myself appear like an arrogant fool. Sorry.

But I do find it quite rude that you forgot to seperate the Canadians from the USA.

I should probably go around and ask the Mongolian foreign students at my uni whether they think it is that bad as it seems to you.

My bad, didn't understand that it was satirical.

If I did list every country to separate from the giant clusters, it would take a while, lol.

Please do and tell me what they say, I'd actually like to hear what they have to say.

People, you need to understand that I formed an opinion on the country based on what I have learned about them. The purpose of the thread was not to say that the country shouldn't exist but to ask why it does. Notice the first sentence in the op.

It exists because many hundreds of years ago, people who lived there formed a small civilisation.
They then decided to, as is natural for humans, to create borders around their land.
Then there were historical moments, in which wars were waged against and by them, and their borders grew and shrunk.
And now you get to this day, in which Mongolia exists as a country due to hundreds of years of history, fighting and preserving of the country's borders.
It still exists now because no other country has ever conquered or claimed it.

Same as every other country that exists in the world.

That obvious response was totally necessary.

Anyway, on the topic of exagerated maps:

That obvious response was totally necessary.

It wasn't exactly an intelligent question that you asked, what did you expect.
