O only build castles, houses, churches etc... :-D All the 'other' stuff is not easy due to current building constraints.

theres nothing i cant make, and look good in current retail

i see no constraints, unless you refer to your skill in NOT using those things

I never used them anyways. And next time, dont sound so much like a roostery bastard.

My only frustration is lack of brick rotation and post-placement brick movement. I'll get over both those eventually- I'll take as much time as I want; I'm in no rush.

Here is a summarization of the thread:
Old style builds are very popular in retail blockland because we are using basic blocks to build them.
We wouldn't be able to build the most up to date designed building with normal lego because it's pretty much impossible.
you can still think out of the box though and build something that will be unexpected and imaginative.

If you notice, on the dinasour, you steel see the blocky style.
As good as people who built in Legoland may be, if you search Legoland builds on google, you do get pretty creative stuff, but again, you see the "blocky" feel to it which can't be changed.
Old style builds are popular because they use that same "blocky" feel in a way that doesn't really show it, and looks like a real building back from the "old times".

Still waiting for the scene recreation of when Gordon Freeman and Master Cheif ganged up to defended the sistine chapel from rhinos with lasers and giant walking tree sloths equided with high powered railguns and several freefloating particle blaster drones and simultaneously fighting off an alien invasion from egypt that came from outer space but was now in egypt since they liked egypt and they also need to defend the eifel tower from a hypernova blast that happened somewhere in the ocean after a seel exploded and for some reason didn't destroy this part of the galaxy since hypernozas are like huge and stuff. They also need to predict a GRB that's headed for earth but they can't predict it since it's as fast as the speed of light but they need to predict it anyways and blow it up even though it's, well, light, but damn them they'll find a way.

Also I don't think I've seen an alien saucer yet.
