The entire 2 party system is ridiculous.  I hate it.  The average person doesn't even make informed decisions anymore, they either swipe down the "Democrat" column, or swipe down the "Republican" column.
this is probably one of the most beautifully handicapped things i've ever had to read.

I don't do that -_-

Even though lots of Republicans are richards, the Democrats are far worse.

OP is handicapped

Wow Ike that was really well written and thought provoking.

I believe you were accidentally reading the post above mine.

Yes, we all like to make sweeping generalizations about people with light-hearted facts and opinions from dead founding fathers.

The 2 Party system is necessary. To give a very palatable example, look at the old Youtube rating system. Only know-nothing friends voted anything but 1 or 5, so they simplified it for people and made it "like" or "dislike." People got pissed when they realized they couldn't vote 3 stars anymore, but that's only because they're incapable of doing math and are just easily outraged.

I'm just making a generalization about the adults I know.

I don't understand what you mean by the Youtube brown townogy, could you clarify?

Hey guys, wanna hear a funny joke?

Republican Governments.

wow, go eat a gigantic bag of richards

i love me too

Wait, what? I was serious, he's actually starting to open up a little bit, but for the majority of the time we've been friends he would practically light on fire if he touched an Apple product. I've always seen the ups and downs of both platforms, and recognize how he could prefer PC over Mac, but I still prefer Mac over PC myself. I just recognize that PC's are good computurs, better than Mac's in some cases, and worse in some cases. Which is more than some apple fanboys/pc fanboys can say.

Gee wiz, sorry to perturb you Iban. I sure won't make that mistake again!

The average person doesn't even look into the issues.

You know this because you're not average.

I don't get it

I'm with the Tea Party Group. Not really a political party, but I listen to what they say and base my opinion off of that. Both of my parents are die hard GOP because my dad believes that Liberals are the anti-Christ.

Want to hear another joke?

Democratic freedoms

Barack Obama is the most sad excuse for a president that I have ever seen. He does nothing but cut budgets to make it look like he's doing something. He's definitely not getting re-elected next year. The reason he can't be impeached is because America will suddenly look like a country of tribals.

you are stupid.
he's TRIED to fix so much stuff but because the congress is now republican run he has no choice but to do what they want. they once pretty much held the country hostage, saying they'd only pass a bill that would fix a lot of stuff ONLY if they also added fully equal ridiculous taxation. he had no choice but to accept.

I disagree with this. Name some significant things that Barack Obama has done besides shell that Libyan richardhead. He has just been sitting in his nice office, slashing budgets and making promises he'll never fulfill before the 2012 election.

wow, ok.

4 people vote on a video.
2 vote 5 stars.
1 votes 1 star.
1 votes 2 stars.

5 + 5 + 2 + 1 = 13
13 / 4 = 3.25 stars, or above average.

It's above average even though, between the people, only half liked the video and the other half did not. The problem is, one of the people who did not like the video was also an idiot and did not realize that voting anything but 1 or 5 gave their opinion less impact in that kind of an algorithm.

Likewise, if you vote Democratic or Republican you will be with the majority of other voters.
If you vote for the Green Party or Tea Party, (hopefully) you are in the minority.
There is almost no chance of an independent winning. There is a large chance, however, that a Republican or Democratic nominee will win.

If there were 5 different parties instead of 2, voting would be more like investing in the stock market (having to carefully weigh odds and determine if investing in the better company is likely to accomplish more than investing with one more likely to succeed) instead of a democratic process.

Like all systems, this one has problems. Less problems than with a multiple party system (e.g. nobody would loving vote, we have a low enough turnout with 2 parties), but still problems (e.g. both parties can become saturated with morons and nobody is really any more likely to do something worth-while than the other, like it is now).

Troll Alert. Do not feed.
