You guys are awful. You should let the people pick up on what the event is through context, not just say "Hey, [insert historical event here] just happened!!" or "Did you guys hear about [historical event]?"
"I just got a new job at the world trade center!"
"Hey guys, I just heard of this new thing called Steam, but who would want to buy their games over the internet, how do you know you'll actually get them?"
