Author Topic: If every clock in the world went away.  (Read 3280 times)

I can guess within 30 minutes of the actual time anywhere, I must track time subconsciously or something. Also if I want to wake up at a certain time even if it is 4 or 5 am, I just think about it before I go to bed and will wake up within 5 minutes of that time.

God damn it, I still see your avatar as a smiling fat guy, with his stomach exposed, leaning back with a purple cape. I have to pay attention to remember.

I do understand what you're saying Ike, but honestly, how would every clock just disappear plus millions of people who understand how they work.

Is it bad if I don't need a time telling device of any sort to live my life?

BUT HOW WILL WE KNOW WHEN BED TIEM?

Nothing. We'd operate off of our internal clocks. There'd be some confusion and arguing but overall we're already programmed to wake up a certain times and know just about when we need each meal. Regardless, in the first 5 minutes of this hypothetical blackout someone would have made a sundial or a metronome.

well yeah, if just obvious clocks went away; but if time keeping instruments entirely vanished into thin air, gpses and other highly sensitive equipment that requires extremely accurate timing to function properly, would no longer work.

BUT HOW WILL WE KNOW WHEN BED TIEM?
Its 7:00pm sharp. You know whens its bed time when the suns is still up and just after you ate supper.

If humanity couldn't tell the time, what would happen? We basically base our whole life around the clock. If we cannot tell time, how can we know when to do what?

Routine would be useless, you would fall into a hole of confusion.

Centuries of being able to tell time won't just go away like that. Even if we did forget in the future we would be able to pick it up again eventually by the time of the sun.

There was no confusion for the 1800's I can tell you that.

This question is dumb anyways.

Is it bad that read the title as: "if every rooster in the world went away"?

BUT HOW WILL WE KNOW WHEN BED TIEM?

Personally, I go to bed when I'm tired and I've run out of things to keep me interested
