Author Topic: Choice between laptops.  (Read 2281 times)

Alright doods.
It's between the Alienware M17x and the iBUYPOWER Battalion 101 X7200.
Here's my loving dilemma.
The Alienware is so goddamn lovey, with its colorchanging and such. It also looks a tad bit thinner and lighter. However, it doesn't even compare in terms of power. When I customize the Alienware on the Dell website, even the best processor you can choose is less powerful than the Battalion.
What do? I'm going to get ~700 dollars (price to be negotiated) taken off the price instantly because my younger brother is going to most likely buy my current laptop for around that price.
Halp. D:

M17x.
Wait hold the forget on.
That Battalion has a 6-core processor?
What the forget.

Why do you want a laptop? You could get a desktop just as good for much cheaper

Uh, are you actually going to travel with it?

Mobility, surely.

One of these laptops probably has 30 minutes of battery life.

Mobility. I go from my mom's house to my dad's every week.

You would plug it into an outlet.
Hurr.

Well obviously, but I'm talking for extended use into college.

3000 just for that?

If anyone is going to spend that much, it better last them a solid 5 years.

What games do you plan to play?

Older or newer?

Ohhhh

Yeah, I get you.

It's the same with me, I miss my PC on the weekdays :(

Tom

If you're going to spend 3000 for it you might as well get a PowerBook. Mac Laptops are so much better and probably won't fall apart in a year.

No computer can last a solid 5 years, technology doesn't work that way
