What's so great about modding? It's just a phone, I don't need all sorts of mods to see the memory usage and stuff.
Their kernel sucks, and that's part of the system you can't change without setting off the "e-fuse" and bricking your device.
Literally, I have to restart this thing (my Droid 2) every few days, battery life isn't very good, and it has a "feature" that will mount a virtual CD drive every time you connect it to your PC which will then install the horribly broken drivers automatically that will end up setting off Windows Genuine Advantage, saying that your copy of Windows isn't genuine anymore (I had to disable autoplay to get it to stop trying to install the drivers every time I connected it to my PC). So, until Motorola decides that they don't know what they're doing and allows the modding community to install their own kernels, I'm steering everybody towards devices that won't restrict their freedom from an OS that's designed to be free and open.
