Author Topic: "Battery" issue  (Read 362 times)

I have had a red 'X' over the battery icon for while now, and its annoying when nothing is wrong with my battery (as far as I know).

It has constantly said "There is a problem with your battery, so your computer might shut down suddenly." and "Consider replacing your battery.".

I have a laptop that that charges in the wall instead of battery replacement. From the messages, my computer hasn't "shut down suddenly". Although when its off the charger is uses more power than it normally would before the issue.

Also, I don't think there is a place where a battery can be replaced.

Any help?

Are you on a mac? Because an X over the battery in that case means you need a new battery. I've had that happen.

Also if you see this:

Im using Windows 7.

The icon appears as a empty battery with a power cord beside it, including a red X.

Okay then.

Sorry, I really have no idea. Never had to deal with an issue like that. Try googling around for common battery problems with your model of laptop and Win7. Some forums should have a solution...

That means that your laptop detected a problem with the battery. Get it replaced or sent in for repair.
