Is it me or does the new lego pirates when compared to the old sets look like watered down crap designed to get children to buy it?

Lego seems to be getting more expensive for the same amount of content you get.

They're making Lego Pirates of the Caribbean.
Might actually be good though, their last one, which was Star Wars 3, was pretty good.

It's all the same stuff in different pixels, damn it!

lego has lost its awesomeness a long time ago now they just make 'play sets' we dont want doll houses we want scale models of real life buildings and vehicles other objects etc

You guys are so slow. There you have Pirates 1&2. You're calling Pirates 2 new. That's great. The current theme is POC.
They're not making POC, you can buy it right now if you want to.

We already covered the let's-whine-about-everything-not-old-as-hell-part in another topic, thank you very much.

They are still selling that pirate crap in stores so it's new enough. They are also releasing POC as soon as the movie comes out.

The reason LEGo is becoming so expensive is because they keep making stuff based off of movies and TV shows. loving ridiculous. If any one of us took control of the LEGO corp.  stuff would drastically change and the prices would drop dramatically. But I do agree, the older sets looked a lot more manly while the newer sets look very childish.

You're assuming a stuff load when you say this.

I know. But lets say in the future someone from this topic becomes head of the LEGO corps. stuff would change.
