"Hyper Text Transfer Protocol protocol"
You are correct.

If it was down, it's up and ugly again.

Nope, still up.

All I really added was a gradient and two boxes. And I mean, who doesn't love a gradient effect?

Good for you.

Anyway, how do you suggest I make the site look nicer?
I'll work on that, but tonight I also plan on adding a message which shows the least and highest rating people and either extending the comment boards or adding one of the new planned features.

Syntax error:

EDIT: You really need to work on the server. It lags like absolute stuff just to load one simple page.

I really do, I'm free over the weekend and will fix it then.

Do this.

Then learn CSS, it's useful and needed even if using tables.
no gradient plz
Gradients in moderation are okay, but not in the extremes you (DrenDran) abused it.

How is that little orange fade in at the top extreme abuse?

Also, the server has been restarted.
Right now I'm going to make some big changes to the server structure itself to help prevent crashes.

Otherwise, anyone, give me suggestions for what the pages should *look* like.

Orange is almost always ugly.

Orange is almost always ugly.
Any other color people might like?

Don't over-design, keep it simple.
Oh, and when using gradients, fade between similar colors, like light gray to white.

Orange is almost always ugly.
Not even close to true.

No. Do this. Then learn CSS, it's useful and needed even if using tables.
First off, it's possible to make a perfectly good table-based design without CSS. Secondly, there's no reason for him to learn css for a project like this - a table-based design would work fine.

I've used both Table based and div based designs. They each have advantages and disadvantages. It's not really worth a debate - HTML table-based designs are perfectly good options. In the end, it all comes down to a matter of opinion.

Not even close to true.
That is a matter of taste.

Try saying that to any of the pros. They'll probably just start laughing at you.
