So I just saw a video from anonymous. I learned there goal is to get the ability to install Linux and to be able to modify feature. It also said they weren't after the players. Why did they shutdown the gaming servers in that case?

Because they clearly are after players too.

Because they clearly are after players too.

Shouldn't hacking be a federal offense by now? By what I mean is a federal offense that they actually enforce.
On Anonymous' level, yes it is a federal offense. And they have tried enforcing it. But Anon is basically untrackable, from what I've read.

i love how probably 3 guys who slightly know what they are doing forget something up.
and all of 4chan thinks they can take credit for it.

the people who use that site arent special. they claim anonymous because its a fun fad in that community. yet they demand recognition for things.
lol stupid kids.

its like back in highschool there was this anarchy "club"

the logic blows my mind. people do what they think is cool, then they get bored and move on.
no one who lurks 4chan stands for anything, and they arent fighting for anything.

this entire incident are a few guys who want to pirate things. well stops the presses! this has never been done before!

Anonymous isn't a hacker group, it's a fad. There isn't a single group known as "The Emos" or "The Goths", they're labels. It's basically a bunch of college kids and older men hacking websites under the label of anonymous because the label represents their interests. There is no "legion" dedicated to taking down Scientology or anything else, there's no leadership structure at all, so there's nothing to take down.

ok you still have it wrong - anonymous is also not a "hacker label" whatever that means

it's just a bunch of friends. just change the title to "Anonymous (Yes, the bunch of friends)" and you'd be more correct than you are now.

That's exactly what it is. It's not an organized group of people, it's a number of talented and misguided individuals flying the anonymous banner over their achievement. I mean, the only people that really claim to be part of anonymous are the 12-year-olds that discover 4chan and brag to all their friends about how they're in an imaginary conglomeration of hackers.

What?

Didn't they hack the PS3 network before?

this is just getting stupid

Hack a free system because they limited ways for you to hack it to get more free stuff.

Please, please don't try to put more /b/ in /b/lockland. There is enough of that stuff in here already.

Anon is coolbro.

But this is sad

Please, please don't try to put more /b/ in /b/lockland. There is enough of that stuff in here already.
it's not like we're all supporting it
i think

Anon is not a group of friends. Sony has access to IPs of people who just wanted their old features back because of what Sony Did.

I'm not even sure I understand what's going on.
