Author Topic: What's with the generation getting more and more stupid?  (Read 2608 times)

Look how little respect people have for each other now? People's manners are stuffty, their vocabulary is decreasing and they butcher the English language like there's no tomorrow.

Oh yeah, they also love to spout WORLD'S GONNA END theories around. Sure there was the whole Y2K thing, but these are getting ridiculous.
Language evolves and changes. Our modern English is nothing like it was 500 years ago. Deal with it.

People have been dreaming end of world scenarios since the world existed.

Same stuff, different day.

your face lol
No, your mother.

My friend is black, my chef is black, my spanish teacher is black, I have nothing against them.
Oh god, I hate people like you. The ones who will get accused of being tribal and then say "my friends are black, my teacher is black, I've had a black girlfriend!". So what? That doesn't mean you're not tribal. And trust me I don't think your "friend" would like you much if he saw your comments.

in video games/movies the power of friendship/love can kill Jesus and whatnot. now look how kids treat/gain friends in this generation. guh. good luck punching Jesus in the nuts now.

He doesn't give a stuff, he frequently calls me a monday, it's all good.

I mean the way people talk.
Maybe it's just where I live but people don't even know basic grammar anymore.

This is the most common, but it's usually because it sounds more natural.
Correct: Mike and I like pizza.
Incorrect: Me and Mike like pizza.

But then there's just ridiculous sounding things like...
Correct: I saw that last week.
Incorrect: I seen that last week.

I mean how do you do that, it doesn't sound right at all and it's just a poorly structured sentence.
Can't think of any examples right now, but if I do I'll bring them up.
But seriously it's pretty bad.

"I didn't say nothing."
double negative, thus you said EVERYTHING!

I knew someone in 4th grade that would say "your face" to everything I said.

Damn that kid was annoying.
I know someone who still does that. Except instead of "your face" its "Michael Jackson"...I thought everyone stopped doing that in the 4th grade.

Oh wow I remember this now.

I ain't never seen something more ridiculous than this grammar.
Maybe it's the way they teach English in schools, maybe it's just behind the times Nova Scotia, maybe it's just the dumbasses in my grade, I dunno.

Maybe I just have too high standards?

I think it's the horrible music, uggghh.

I think dubstep has taken an increasing popularity in the past month at my school, or at least in the 9th grade classes.
Not a huge fan of hardcore deathpunk emo rock screamo bands, or rappers rapping about love, drugs, alcohol, violence and other things which are 100% safe and totally not influential to kids trying to fit in.

I like things like Coldplay, The Beatles and maybe the odd other band here and there, but I think I'll keep it simple.

Media forgets kids over royally, especially the internet. On the flip side, it has provided a lot of great breakthroughs for humanity.

lately, I've been listening to songs in Japanese. right now, i'm listening to the opening of Toradora! on repeat ._. I think i'm safe for now, hehe.

Heads up, there is no "correct" way to speak and there never has been.
Things which you see as "incorrect" today will be the norm in 20 years.
Stop bitching about it.

I'm bitching about it because as of now, it's the wrong way to speak.
In the future, I don't want the country I live in filled with people sounding like red neck mountaineers.
