Author Topic: DEP Disable/Enabled help  (Read 4991 times)

Im trying to start up my Counter Strike Source, and it said DEP protection something something.

I followed the steps to enable it on command prompt but it said access denied.
My computer is a 32bit windows vista.

can someone help me to get it access granted so I can play my game?

I rely on you smart blocklanders for help :|

Maybe you have to log in as the Administrator to gain access, but I don't know for certain.

Suggesting something like this is EXTREMELY irritating.
He is NOT going to spend all that money on a COMPLETELY NEW OS just because he can't play Counter Strike, please kindly do not say these things in the future.

Right click on My Computer, I think. Either that, or when it blocks it, there should be a list of the blocked programs. Select hl2.exe or vice-verca to unblock it.

find the executable for CS:S

right click

properties

check run as administrator

apply/ok

not that the command prompt thing to turn off dep, its stopping lots of other crap too


I remember I had this for Blockland, I forgot what I did.
