What else you want? A ban mute?
-How can you censor the chat? You'll have to ban or mute the guy spewing a gratuitous excess of cusses
-How are we to drama people? Will we have to record them, and have Badspot add a feature to the forums whereby you can add audio to a post? Do we have a chat recording ability so we are able to do so? We might not be able to hear them over other people.
-How are we to censor it for the soccer-moms who are afraid of their little darling child hearing someone say something inappropriate?
-Will there be a mic sent to you when you buy Blockland, and will those who have one already need to drive to Badspot's house to get them? Will there be a Blockland approved mic, or will everyone buy their own?
-What happens when there are thirty or more players, all trying to get heard by screaming? Even fifteen people is chaos.
-How are we to tell which voice belongs to who in a server with thirty players? You can't remember what everyone sounds like.
-Suppose the server lags. Instead of idiots typing "LLLLLAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!" You'll hear idiots screaming it.
-Consider the problem of team chat for deathmatches and voice commands and chat-related events and mods.
-Consider the problems for IRC.
-Consider the fact that there's both music and miscellaneous sounds on Blockland. If you're next to a brick playing loud music, will you have to shout to be heard over it? What about in a DM with thirty players, with bullet sounds coming from every direction?
-Consider the fact that adding a mute feature won't loving fix everything.

Over fifty prepubescent forgets all screaming conveniently into your ear.

Fix this stuff with a goddamn mute button

If the HOST/ADMIN has an option to force everyone to MUTE, the screaming, and music playing, would STOP.

If the HOST/ADMIN has an option to force everyone to MUTE, the screaming, and music playing, would STOP.
How do you not get that a mute button won't solve every single problem with this stuff?

Take your mute button and fix all this:

the voice communication used in source engine games takes care of all of that in relatively simple ways, but it doesn't even matter because it isn't happening in-game.

-If someone's just blaring music in the background, do you mute 'em? We all know that some people like listening to music while they play. Yes, mute them.
-Will we mute people when their family is being loud in the background because they don't have computers in their bedrooms?  Yes.
-How can you censor the chat? You'll have to ban or mute the guy spewing a gratuitous excess of cusses No stuff?
-How are we to drama people? Will we have to record them, and have Badspot add a feature to the forums whereby you can add audio to a post? Do we have a chat recording ability so we are able to do so? We might not be able to hear them over other people. You can record audio with Fraps / X-Fire and upload it to a media-website such as X-Fire or Youtube.
-How are we to censor it for the soccer-moms who are afraid of their little darling child hearing someone say something inappropriate? Voice chat should be optional, mute people you don't like.
-Will there be a mic sent to you when you buy Blockland, and will those who have one already need to drive to Badspot's house to get them? Will there be a Blockland approved mic, or will everyone buy their own?  No, mow some lawns and buy a mic.
-What happens when there are thirty or more players, all trying to get heard by screaming? Even fifteen people is chaos. Local Chat Radius.
-How are we to tell which voice belongs to who in a server with thirty players? You can't remember what everyone sounds like. Voice tags appear on the screen.
-Suppose there's an argument. Do you ban two people just debating worthless bullstuff, or do you mute them? It's up to the admin.
-Suppose someone has a cold and is coughing/sneezing constantly. You won't be able to hear anyone over them, so you'll have to mute them, won't you? Push to talk button.
-Suppose the server lags. Instead of idiots typing "LLLLLAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!" You'll hear idiots screaming it. Mute/Ban them.
-Consider the problem of team chat for deathmatches and voice commands and chat-related events and mods. Seperate key-bind for team-chat.
-Consider the problems for IRC. What the forget are you smoking.
-Consider the fact that there's both music and miscellaneous sounds on Blockland. If you're next to a brick playing loud music, will you have to shout to be heard over it? What about in a DM with thirty players, with bullet sounds coming from every direction? Voice Decibel Slider.
-Consider the fact that adding a mute feature won't loving fix everything. But it will, you just don't seem to see that.

By the way, Voice Chat should be optional, and clients should be able to mute people client-sided.

Host Force Mute.
-Will we mute people when their family is being loud in the background because they don't have computers in their bedrooms?
Well I'm sorry then, you will just have to wait until they calm down.

Record it yourself with a program. Badspot doesn't need to suit all of your needs.
-How are we to censor it for the soccer-moms who are afraid of their little darling child hearing someone say something inappropriate?
Get headphones, or use the headset's speakers.
-Will there be a mic sent to you when you buy Blockland, and will those who have one already need to drive to Badspot's house to get them? Will there be a Blockland approved mic, or will everyone buy their own?
Badspot will not wanna deal with this crap. If you got a microphone good. If you don't, tough nuts.
-What happens when there are thirty or more players, all trying to get heard by screaming? Even fifteen people is chaos.
Host Force Mute.
-How are we to tell which voice belongs to who in a server with thirty players? You can't remember what everyone sounds like.
That happens all the time in those big games like "Modern Warfare, Uncharted, and Halo." Just don't use Headset chat, if its a problem.
-Suppose there's an argument. Do you ban two people just debating worthless bullstuff, or do you mute them?
Host Force Mute.
-Suppose someone has a cold and is coughing/sneezing constantly. You won't be able to hear anyone over them, so you'll have to mute them, won't you?
Say "Sorry, but please use a button to push when you want to talk, please."
-Suppose the server lags. Instead of idiots typing "LLLLLAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!" You'll hear idiots screaming it.
Host Force Mute.
-Consider the problem of team chat for deathmatches and voice commands and chat-related events and mods.
Well obviously...
-Consider the problems for IRC.
What are you talking about?
-Consider the fact that there's both music and miscellaneous sounds on Blockland. If you're next to a brick playing loud music, will you have to shout to be heard over it? What about in a DM with thirty players, with bullet sounds coming from every direction?
Host Force Mute, or tell them to use headphones.
-Consider the fact that adding a mute feature won't loving fix everything.
Muting CAN fix everything.

Muting CANNOT fix everything shut the forget up already.

Okay. I guess I cant call you Night Fox, since I don't know you. Oh I guess I cant call the president, Obama, since I don't know him... Hmmm, oh yeah I can't call my dog, Sophie, since I don't know her.
You can call me Night Fox, because that's not my real name, dipstuff.
Everyone calls the president Obama, it's the most formal thing besides Mr. President.
You do know your dog, unless you have a mental disorder.

It's simply not needed. Most of us use skype or teamspeak anyway.

Muting CANNOT fix everything shut the forget up already.

Muting can fix everything, if you're to lazy to use such a function then you should disable Voice Chat all-together.

-mehsnip-

The thing is, constantly muting people for little things that irritate you is unnaturally abusive. It's like deleting a build just because you don't like the color that someone used, or because you don't like how it looks, or because they took up too much space. Sure, it could fix the problems, but it's just not right.

Client-side muting.

here;s what i think should be with the mic:

A client can be able to ignore a mic, or turn the volume off of someone's mic such as lower the volume the client recieves.

The host should be able to set who uses mics (i.e. everyone, admins only, super-admins only, host only)
and the host should mute someone or remove one's mic privilege.

a mod like this needs to have alot of control.

Oh Night Fox. Your so nice and gentle today.
