Author Topic: Why has no one thought of this for holding weapons?  (Read 7630 times)

Why has no one thought of holding weapons like this? All you would have to do is force the head to look left and switch the walking controls up a bit. No more colored hands and no more hands that stretch out too far apart to not even make sense. I wasn't going to say anything because I figured at least one person would attempt to do this method but I guess not.

I would rather have this over stretchy colored hands.

Lolwut. The sideways player.

Blockland players are fine bro. That is interesting, although it should probably just be an archer playertype. I dont know about other weapons...

I might start modeling... anyone know if 3DSMax can export to .DTS or .OBJ? I cant find out on my own right now...

I don't mean a playertype because then that would affect one handed weapons and others too. I just mean for individual weapons that would use this kind of method.

Think of it as just an alternative for people that don't want lame custom handed weapons.

I think it would look kind of stupid. But that's just my opinion.
It would be easier to just make the weapons shorter, they don't have to be 1:1 scale models from COD.

Tan colored hands that don't match your skin color that stretch out too far apart from your body doesn't look stupid at all?

If guns would be made this way the thumb will be on the trigger.

Yeah, they do. The far-stretchyness can be fixed by making shorter guns, and there should be some cool script that checks the color of the player's hand and then recolors the texture/changes the texture of the hand on the weapon(if it's possible).

Space Guy did this with one of the TF2 miniguns (Natascha?).

Never seen it. :o

Shorter guns is not the issue. The hands shouldn't even have to stretch left or right, far or closer.

I remember that, it was pretty cool.

I don't see an issue with that.

-snip-
I don't see an issue with that.

You are talking about visual and realism.

How is pressing the trigger with a thumb either visually or realisticly good?

You seem to forget this is a game about plastic toy minifgures. Don't question me about stuff being realistic here.

Bushido did something like this
