Dillon is obviously an Alt.

The fact that you used common internet "insults" such as correcting grammar and how you said "protip" made you seem like an idiot.

Protip: That kind of stuff only works for other internet dwellers, not normal everyday people.

OHOHOHO. What a cigaretteola.

When I read the thing, without knowing who was who, Kaden was being the cigarette in the argument.

Also the guy seems to be friends with Sam. GJ at trying to making friends.

Dude, you don't have to call out people for having stuffty grammar, even if they are idiots.

You are pretty stupid.  It's not worth fighting with people you know over stupid things like that.

This question has been spreading around my group of friends for a little while now:

6÷2(1+2)=?

1.) 1
2.) 9

Clearly the answer is 1, yet most of the people I know said 9.  This infuriates me; I lament for our generation, yet I don't say anything because it would just make me sound like a friend for berating some poor kid.

Oh my god stupid people.

What the forget, i was just talking to my friend about this.

There are 2 ways to solve this, and the problem arises in that I'm not sure if the parenthesis is canceled after you multiple. Let's lay this out:

6÷2 (1+2) = ?
6÷2 * 3 = ?
3 * 3 = 9

or

6÷2 (1+2) = ?
6÷2 (3) = ?
6÷6 = 1

I believe it's 9, but if you think the parenthesis should stay around the 3 PEMDAS tells you to multiple the 2 and (3). I think it's 9 because once you add 1 and 2 you're left with just 3. And then PEMDAS tells you to multiple and divide left to right.

I was obviously thinking this and thought "hurp what rave is stupid"

Then I read his

and got very mindforgeted like he wanted on of us to point out a flaw or something. This lead me into a spiral of confusion in which I refuses to respond unless someone else did first, such as you.

Hahahaha

It's really late too

Simple fact, the parenthesis don't magically disappear after you add.

Nevertheless, I propose using the distributive property.  The dilemma is solved.

Parentheses
Exponents
Multiplication
Division
Addition
Subtraction

Following PEMDAS you would do the multiplication before the division, no?
And the parentheses stay.

Really I'm stuck, because I'm pretty sure the parenthesis are no longer there because you've performed the operation that was inside and are now left with a single digit.

You could also distribute the 2 right off the bat and get 6÷2+2 which gets you 5.

That Kaden fellow in first post seems like an starfish. I bet no one likes him.
