What of those should I delete?

Any unnecessary Windows apps that came with your machine.

I don't know what's unnecessary.

Well, Like, Microsoft office, depending on if you use it. I don't know what you have on there completely.

Go to command prompt and type in appwiz.cpl and it will show you all your current applications.

How do I open command prompt, and what would happen if I just format the drive?

Don't format the drive, unless you want to wipe everything you've gained off the machine.

Open the command prompt by going into start> search > cmd. (if you have windows 7)

If not, go into start> accessories > command prompt.

To open the command prompt, click the start button and hit "Run..." and type in cmd.exe.

Formatting your drive removes everything on it. :l

aaaaaaa what tom said

"Bonjour" and "MSN Gaming Zone".

I haven't gained anything on it.
I'm only asking because I don't want it to get rid of the OS, and I don't know if it will.
"Bonjour" and "MSN Gaming Zone".
Both of those, and a lot of the others, say some stuff about "Access Denied."

Night Fox, thanks for reminding me, I need to clean my hardrive of useless crap.

Every 2 months, I go deleting what I don't need, since I lose interest in half the stuff I download.

I haven't gained anything on it.

It removes all files, including important files for your OS. It will not run if you format the drive.

Ah damnit.
How can I delete only what isn't important without individually deleting every file?

I haven't gained anything on it.

If your OS is installed on that drive yes the OS will be deleted but if your OS is on another hdd then the OS wont be deleted unless you format that other drive.

If the OS was on my other drive I wouldn't need to do this.

top of my head:

cyberlink, HP, internet explorer, home publishing, picture it!, plus!, msn gaming zone, netmeeting, quicktime, sony, vaio, yahoo

these are all garbage programs that come standard on a ton of computers, might omit the quicktime since some websites use it, and sony/vaio may have battery conservation routines in them if you're on a laptop so don't delete those until you check.
