FAIRVIEW
because we have no lovey logos

ABOUT Jorici came up with the cool idea of having a community city built (original idea by Lordy Lord) only this time, using the hit city-creation game SimCity 3000 Unlimited. While I prefer leading a story as opposed to helping construct one, I decided to take it a step up and start one using SimCity 4. Choosing one of the default terrains, known as Fairview, let's make this city grow and prosper together! Control the tax rates, funding for police stations, fire stations, hospitals, educational systems, traffic patterns, and any other vital options. The project will most likely be updated daily to every-other day at night CST.

BACKSTORY The year is 2000, and the new continent of Simland was recently founded. Your family has traveled there, seeking new opportunities to make their name known in the region. Your uncle was elected into the state council five years ago now, and has done exceptionally well, even with beginner's luck. His northern region has grown exponentially under his guidance, and now that you're old enough to conduct a region's growth, he has agreed to grant you a small ten-mile by ten-mile area of land to see what you can do for the state. Everybody has their eyes on you, curious to see if you have the same land development skills that your uncle possesses - it's time to find out!

Since he agreed to give you some starter land, he's also given you $500,000 into your "city" funds to start expanding - it's time to see what you can do with it.

DECISION 1 - JANUARY 2000

This is the southern part of your uncle's controlled area, one still totally uninhabited by human life like your own. There's some forestry around, nothing to dense you can't work with and the ground itself is good for farming all over should you choose to go agricultural. He's taken the region and divided it up into a grid and offered you quite a selection of choices to choose from - they're all the same size, though some have more water than others, with ocean access, and less land access. Others are fully landed with no water, but water is mainly for desirability and industry growth, nothing too important at the moment.

Well, take your pick;

If you're having problems identifying the colors, the columns are from left to right, and the colors are organized from bottom to top, left to right. You have one day for voting!

EDIT: Remember its more expensive to build in harsher terrains!

I really wish I had SimCity 4, I will need to make an investment sometime in the future...

I say right aqua for a good source of water.

Its been out for so long now, it can't be too expensive lol.

It'd be great for desirability but weird to build around. :o

Whats the worst that could happen :o

...well played, good sir. I don't know if the shoreline is smooth enough for beaches though, not that we should really be worrying about that now anyway.

Also note that Ill be messing with weather stuff occasionally, notably fire (heheh fun), lightning, and the tornadoes... I doubt Ill be an ass enough to have an earthquake.

I found Simcity 4 gathering dust in my fathers bookcase!
I can now play it :D

On-topic; ... I dunno, I just wanted to share the statement above :o

I hope you have some decent add-ons.

I think red is best, since it offers access to water, but has a lot of land to build on.

I was actually just browsing looking for some. I ended up having to reinstall it so I lost all of the mods I had previously. :(

green, you get forest, plains, and a nice place for a dock.

You better have Rush Hour. >:L

Yay

I vote grey (or white) as it looks like it has a relatively flatter surface compared to the other options and has opportunity for neighbouring connections.

Yes, that's another thing to consider. :o

Also in the event of a tie Ill choose whichever one I see get more votes first.
