I was going to include a big paragraph about how CUCUMBER probably is a douche, but I'm glad I didn't now.
Yeah, he's a pretty cool guy.

His (T)DM's are really fun too.

This has been said multiple times, but it is his server.

However I must say that what you've done was wrong, unless you were under some conditions such as
my team had something like 2 players and the enemy team had about 10
and by using the phrase "something like" I start to think that you're exaggerating, and you had about half as many team members. Either way, resorting to inbalancing the power in the game (which I just loving lost again) isn't the right way to solve a problem, you should've moved some people by random (so it doesn't look like you're moving the best players) to make it even.

Then again, it is your server, but just some advice so topics like this don't come up (if you even care about them, of course).

FYI, when i hosted Afghanistan DM (a server that would be 48/48 all day errday), I would sometimes give myself 1000hp, a hammer, and jets, put myself on my own team, and almost nobody complained. It breaks up the monotony.
Haha, that's exactly my approach. Every now and again, OP myself for a bit. Usually I give myself some stupid uberweapon and make myself invis/tiny, then put everyone/most people on the enemy team. TDMs can get boring, ya know.

As I said, if people really did find this so annoying, they could just leave, damnit.

How many people can your server support, Cucumber? It'd be cool to work on another TDM. It was really fun the way I had it set up.

P.S. Apparently Demetri was perma-banned by Badspot for telling him that admins should be allowed to act as they please. That's kind of sad. I've always had such faith in Badspot's reasoning.

-moralitysnip-

I think you've missed the point a bit. I didn't badmin to balance out teams or something. I badminned because it was fun, for me, and for (some/most) of the people on the other team.

That's partly where OP was confused. The reason they were winning so much was because it was 2 v 10. The reason it was 2 v 10 was because I was doing my badmin funtime, not the other way around.

Wut!?

Oh I see. He was trying to prove a point.

I think the main difference between the forum model and the server model is that the forums don't really have massive competition - ie, if I'm banned here, there aren't a bunch of other equally populated blockland forums.

If you were doing it to have fun, I suppose that is another story entirely. In fact, I'd do it too :D

Indeed.

I actually once designed a game where it was the entire server in biplanes against me, a giant blue guy with homing rockets. Tons of fun was had.

Just to say that there's very much a grey area between badminning and purposely differentiated team setups.

I've been experimenting with that a lot also, actually. If you've ever played for example my Cbrown town Run, then you know exactly what I mean - a couple guys with miniguns and helicopters are a close match for 30 people with mere bows, but people complain anyways.

Badspot's reasoning makes perfect sense.

It's like saying, Muammar Gaddafi leads Libyan Government, so he should do as he pleases and the U.N shouldn't try and stop him.

Also Cucumberdude was just having a little bit of fun and wasn't doing this the entire time. I've always known him to pull out a super-powered weapon every so often to spice things up in a minigame.

This is so far off, it's nearly insulting to Libyans :/

We're not talking about the loss of human life here. Libyans can't just 'switch lives' or something.
That's not a parallel by any means, on so many levels.

Lol.

Oeople keep trying to draw parrallels to unrelated stuff to explain why if someone does X in their own little slice of cyberspace people voluntarily join and stay in, they're a Totalitarian Dictator that murders their own innocent civilians that are financially and physically incapable of relocating.

I remember once in cucmberdude's server, he had a free-for-all deathmatch where we all had miniguns and he would change the projectile many times through the match. stuff was ballin'.

You don't need to be his love slave to continue kissing his ass like you are now
