Author Topic: Better Mac modeling software besides Blender?  (Read 1097 times)

Hey,

Blender is too frustrating, anyone know any good mac modeling software that won't cost $100 or more? I need a replacement obviously. So yeah, if any of you out there found some gold nugget software, it'd be great to know. Excuse me while a put an axe through my Blender window...

EDIT: Clarification, Blender is too crappy to use, I can model in it, but it just wants to make it AS DIFFUCULT AS POSSIBLE FOR ME. Textures get reset to nothing when saving and quitting, I can't texture my model "blank.png" or the model looks incredibly shiny in game.

Google Sketchup , Milkshake , and Wings 3D.

Milkshape is windows only i believe, but thanks. I am willing to pay money for software by the way, probably not over $50 though.

Sketchup isn't really good, Milkshape* isn't for mac, and Wings 3D could be an option.

Anything not free?(lol, how often do you hear that?)

Wings 3d.

Very easy and produces models that fit well into Blockland.

Anything not free?

3ds Max and Maya, both expensive as hell I believe.

Though really, you would be better off getting Wings 3D, or simply learning Blender.
Blender/3ds Max/Milkshape 3D are able to export to .dts, so you have to choose one of them for exporting.

Certain programs don't make the model fit better into Blockland.

3ds Max and Maya.
I don't think he has that much money to throw at blockland.

If you're getting frustrated with blender, max and maya are too high level for you.

Go with wings.

I've used it in the past and it works fine for Blockland, just no exporter.

Man Macs are always having trouble you can only stay with a certain configuration and then theres tons of compatibility Issues, you should consider buying a windows desktop because laptops require you to replace everything for one little change like a video card I'm not saying you should switch but just consider it,I mean what would happen if Badspot decided to drop Mac compatibility for the next version until he fixes it?

Please, shut up, this thread doesn't need to be tainted by a digital Mac vs. PC skirmish.

Hahaha. Oh wait, your serious. Let me laugh even harder. Bwahahaha.
