Author Topic: Concept for a video game  (Read 622 times)

It will take place during the height of the Second American Civil War, in an unknown date in the far future, and the game would start off in a military airforce base under siege in West Virginia. Most of the country has been decimated by the war that has gone on for two raging years, bringing an end to 1.2 million lives so far. The enemy of the character's side, some region of the U.S. that is attempting to secede from the U.S. after a trade embargo from pretty much the world. With America failing economically and politically, the U.S. government has split into two, calling themselves from the first Civil War about 250 years ago, The Confederate States of America. So, back to what the game starts out as. the CSA is attacking the air force base you are in, but you caught the last helicopter out of there before the attack. So during the sleeting rain, you see about 1,500 confederates charge towards the base, and then you fly over a mountain, out of sight.

The gameplay would be like Fallout's, but with more realistic NPC damage, and different weapons. It would take place in three main areas, the Boston area, the Richmond, VA area, and Los Angeles. Of course there would be other cities that you need to help defend, and you can choose if you do or not. Most of the game would take place in LA, since that is the capital of the CSA. There would also be dynamic and random attacks on cities, and that can effectively turn the tide of the war. Say, the CSA captures a manufacturing city and holds it. The army around you will have not as good supplies, and same with food, water, etc. which you will need to survive. Also, there is a dynamic map of the U.S. that shows what the CSA has taken and the USA has taken, and that is all based on which battles have been won. The size of the two armies in battle will also vary and be randomized, or if a major military installation was taken, the next attack would consist of less soldiers and supplies for that one army.

So, what do you think?

Wow just wow... (In a good way.)

it sounds liek cal of doty lol :cookieMonster:

Kidding, it's a pretty cool idea.

IDK... I don't quite like this idea...

At first I was like:

But then I was like:

sounds like FPS plus RTS

the problem is if the armies are randomly generated you could have 5 million enemies and 0 allies. you need to add extreems, like a random number from 200 to 500 or something.

Pretty sure that's a given. and it couldn't get up higher than 364000, depending on your Game Engine.

also, what would they be fighting for exactly?

Customizable bases and I am in. :D

It's good concept, I'll agree, by the dynamic city attacks could be tedious. Think about computer games like Spore and STALKER. Needing to run back three whole areas, or fly across an entire galaxy, just because your base is under attack is time consuming and often not very rewarding...

But like I said before, good idea.
