Author Topic: New computer, no increased performance  (Read 2047 times)

I recently built a new PC with the following specs:

Intel Core i5-2500K CPU @ 3.30GHz (4 Cpu's)
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 Ti
4096MB RAM
-
8x Anisotropic
8xQ AA

I get over 1,000 frames per second when nothing is loaded, but only 30fps when 55,000(ish) bricks are loaded. This is essentially the same performance I was getting with a Core 2 Duo (3.0GHz) with a 256mb GPU.

Also, I can easily max Crysis, so the GPU is not the problem. I've also tried multiple drivers. Does this have anything to do with OpenGL?

I'm pretty sure Torque only uses one core, so it's probably an engine limitation.

On the other hand, I would expect better performance because one 2500k core >>>>>>> 1 C2D core.

Also, I'm currently on the latest 560 TI driver.

Whats your full motherboard and GPUs needs 2 fans.

wat

Besides the fact that this is wrong, I don't see how it could possibly be relevant.

I was trying to say he didn't tell us the full motherboard only a few parts and he is missing the chip on his list.

Tip:Fans memory and good graphics and other good parts make Blockland run the best on some GPUs.

Wat. Anyway... None of those things matter here.

Fans give you better speed. Give us a better explanation of how there is no increased performance on you Comp?

I would suggest re-boot it to a 64 Bit Windows 7 and putting your files back in and de-frag it?

Offtopic maybe :/?

Lol... Lol. Fans do not give more speed. Even if they did, I have dual gpu fans. Also, I'm using 64bit windows 7. There's no reason to defrag either. Blockland is the only game I'm having a problem with. This PC has been up an running for only two days.

Lol.

You're handicapped.

Could I get some help from people who know what the hell they're talking about. I'm out of ideas.

Wow! My computer runs fast now!

Anyways, his fps should be much higher. His comp is better than mine and on the same settings, I get 3-4x the fps he does.

i would check the frames after dropping the anisotropic and aa to nothing.
it might be a little more helpful in telling you if its a graphic hard/software thing or a processor thing.

i would also run blockland on a single core and check for differences as well.

With all Anistrophy and AA off, 26fps with one core, and 30fps with 2 cores... as opposed to 35fps with all four (including AA and AF).

hmm :\

that dont give any answers either way lol
