Wow, nice. Now you're saying they look like a horse. Clever boy!

Is this the kind of stuff that you see cardboard astrophysicists writing?

I don't want to be a vegan either. :( I just want America to change it's ways of mass producing animals. I know it is mostly America simply because every other country I have been to I have eaten meats that are much more tender and well cared for. Such as Australian meats. Also why do you think that chocolate in Sweden or whatever tastes so good? It is because of the grass and foods that farmers provide the cows to help them produce such good milk, therefore good chocolate. And cheese. :)

You're stupid. How the hell would you know anything about being fat long ago? For a fact, when humans don't eat, their bodies make an attempt to store as much fat as they can, and only use the fat to sustain at the verge of starvation. In healthy bodies, there's not much fat to use when there's no other food.

Long ago, people weren't fat because their daily lives required near constant physical strain, and they ate about half of what we eat by standard. They had to walk anywhere if they didn't have a wagon, and nearly everything was done by hand. I assume you're talking about times before industrialism, electricity, cars, etc...
Yeah, we might not have became as fat, but fat was still the best energy source because of it's high calorie density. Of course it probably was supplemented by a lot of sugary berries, but sugar has the advantage of quick and easy to metabolize energy.

We don't evolve like the taste of butter, you forgettard. "liking the taste" or something varies from person to person, and I know we have always accepted the taste of fat as something awesome, it's why people used to put butter on everything. Of course that was before they were eating so much food.
Like Fred said, we have evolved to like certain taste over others. If you did a taste test between a bitter sample against a surgery sample I'm sure 100% of people would like the sugar better. Bitter on it's own is considered a bad taste because it would have been associated with poison.

Yes of course taste varies from person to person a lot, but that's when your referring to combination of the basic tastes. When it comes down to basic taste on their own, people like certain ones better and they like foods that prominently have those good taste. That's why the sweets industry is so big, snack foods are salted for taste and fattier ice cream is labeled "premium".

On second thought, I'm pretty sure we're hardwired to like sugar (like 99% of people) because it's so valuable to our existence.

In addition to high calorie density, fats are built of lipids, which are put together from carbon to carbon bonds, which hold the most energy.

What I'm really curious about is if natural selection is taking place and in a couple million years from now (assuming developed nations we keep having too much food) obesity will generally be a problem of the past. I mean I don't think too many obese people end up being able to or getting around to reproducing to pass on their genes.

actually we did evolve to like fatty, salty, and sweet foods. when our brains were just becoming intelligent there wasn't very much of that kind of food. those foods were stored in the lean bodies of those people and were used to gain more energy. that is why we enjoy eating salty, fatty, and sweet foods. this was all back around the time of early man.

you're right, people with a low metabolism can't reproduce, that means humans will have a hard time adapting to the next ice age, when ever that may be.
