Author Topic: transferring minecraft saves  (Read 744 times)

got a new computer, I'm a bit concerned about one thing.

opening Run and typing %appdata% takes you to the application data of the new computer's hard drive

how can I open %appdata% on an external hard drive that's connected to the computer? That's where the files are.

Show hidden files and click on it, and it'll work like a regular folder.

im not sure you can
thats like saying system32 is on an ext. hdd

C:\Users\Ben(Or your name)\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft

These are your minecraft files, not appdata.

Just run minecraft on your new computer to make the .minecraft folder
Then take the saves folder from your old computer and place it in your new .minecraft folder

I opened the external hard drive folder, but application data isn't there
Then take the saves folder from your old computer and place it in your new .minecraft folder
The old computer is dead and its files is on an external hard drive.

Never mind, I found it.
