Zombies, a lot of them modeled after people who tested the game, or people in the server, none of that left 4 dead class/left 4 dead blocko bullstuff, just zombies of all shapes and sizes.
You might say the AI was a bit less advanced at the time, but you could have more of them before the server started lagging.

It took like 150+ before my server started to lag.

Now with zapt or l4d it takes less than 10.
