Do you think the teleportation accident and the mantis men happened around the same time? The facilities timeline is about even with the distance to the surface, and the ship was much higher up.
Well that dock was found not too far up from the mantis men.  I'm just playing with a funny idea man ;P

It is somewhat possible a few mantis men had been trolling the facility behind the scenes for a while :P

Meh. The way he talks about it, I'd think the Mantis Men were sectioned off into a closed area of the facility, but one of importance they needed cleared.

True, but I'd be happy to see some mantis men in here even if it does defy all logic of the canon plot.

I'd rather it be more logical to tie in better to our reality. Again, just wait for them in Portal 3. :3

I wouldn't want like a full on chapter and event of mantis men.   Just a few thrown in here or there as an easter egg.  That would be funny.

Maybe a mantis hole?

Really, you two are the first occurrence of such a random idea to me. It was implied for Portal 3, and if it will, it will be there. I see no reason it should come out of the Half-Life side of the series. They're in the same universe, but they have their oddities to themselves.

Mantis Men...

How do you know there even will be a Portal 3?

I don't. But that doesn't mean you pull the Easter Eggs out of their native game and into another just because they share a universe. It is for Portal 3 to laugh about, don't steal its jokes. :panda:

Wasn't going to, don't worry.

Wait, am I missing something here? Mantis men have absolutely nothing to do with Half Life.

Portal and Half-Life share the same universe. They retconned the cut ship from Half-Life 2 for Half Life 2: Episode 3 as an Aperture Science ship, which there's an Easter Egg of in Portal 2. Don't you remember all the references to Black Mesa in Portal and Portal 2? Cave Johnson cursing out Black Mesa? They were in competition with Aperture Science.

But I still don't think Mantis Men ever had anything what so ever to do with the Borealis. By the chronological timeline of The-Higher-The-Newer, they're at completely different times.

I understand that, it seemed like you were implying by putting mantis men in this build it would be a reference to Half Life.

Nah, I was still talking about those guys wanting them in Half-Life 2: Episode 3 when it seems like they're just trying to take advantage of the most prominent connection to Aperture as a way to introduce this element sooner, probably with some excuse that in Portal you wouldn't have rifles to fight them off.

Mega you're taking it way too seriously.  I thought it would be funny if in episode 3 that you saw a mantis man here or there on the borealis as a joke.  Not as an enemy to be taken seriously, as an easter egg put there only for stuffs n' giggles.

Nope, not my thinking at all.  IDK why you like to argue with me so much...

I'm not saying valve SHOULD do it either, I just thought it would be funny.  Sorry I have to strip my sense of humor like you do.
