Whenever I start steam, it says connecting to server, then my whole computer loving freezes. It was just working fine a few days ago, what the hell is wrong?

About a day now, and my internet is not very good right now. If I re-download i'm gonna have to DL Gmod, BF2, and a bunch of other stuff again.
