FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, I WANT TO MURDER "WEIRD AL" THAT OLD MOTHER forgetER. Not only is he doing people I've never heard of, he's buying into the stuffstorm music that deserves no attention. He should burn and die for betraying his own previous awesomeness.

hes always done the popular songs at the time of each album

hes always done the popular songs at the time of each album

But why is he suddenly doing popular stuff songs and artists?

Why?

because theyre songs everyone knows

because theyre songs everyone knows

No. They're songs everyone hates. Anyone who likes them gets bashed. They're gay, annoying, stupid. I purposefully give myself absolute zero knowledge of that type of stuff. Yet, he's done it. He's decided to include the most controversial stuff music in his own. He's absorbed himself into the stuff I hate. And I hate him for it.

No. They're songs everyone hates.
Just because you hate them doesn't mean everyone else does. Stop being a closed-minded twat.

Majority vote calls them gay, weird, and creepy. Then there's a ton of people who fight that. I can't say I haven't done similarly, but that stuff is too popular for me to support. I hate it. I seriously do. People who are too famous for whatever ability some people think they have. My point is that "Weird Al" shouldn't lower himself to their level by acknowledging their existence. There's still plenty of good music to parody, but he does this stuff. It sickens me.

So his parodies are suddenly stuff because the subject is stuff?

That's like saying...

No I mean, I don't even need to make up an brown townogy for this. This is comedy by definition. Making fun of something that people like or know about or is popular because that way people would get it.

Alright, for stuffs and giggles, here's an example any way. That's like saying that Frank Caliendo (or pretty much anyone who does impression comedy) is a stupid forget because he's imitating George Bush who is a stupid forget. It doesn't work like that.

I'm sorry that the top 40 songs of today are all stuff and you don't like them, I don't like them either. But the fact of the matter is, all of his (Weird Al's) famous songs are parodies of songs that at their time were top 40 hits. He parodies music people know.

Look, I've thought modern music has been stuff since the day I started listening to the radio. Dunno why, tastes I guess. I like stuff that my parents liked. Hell I like stuff my grandparents liked. The fact is though, a parody can make the song that much funnier. Even just covering it in a polka medley, which is genius funny because polka is the least known and least popular form of music, so having him play all of these "number ones" on an accordion is great.

Long story short, if you're some kind of hipster who thinks Weird Al should only parody songs of some obscure band that's only had 300 hits on Myspace, good luck with that; the fact is no one would listen to him because no one would get the joke. I think all music past the year 1990 is pure and simple donkey dung with a few exceptions, but you didn't see me getting all butthurt when he parodied... well... pretty much everything after said date.

Don't you lecture me on "Weird Al" Yankovic. I have every single album by him, including his Peter and the Wolf. I have his movie and TV series on DVD. I loved him...

Again, my only point is... so many people hate on that music for good reason... To the point, I'm tired of hearing ANY of it... Why doesn't he see that? Why isn't he smart?

If you are tired of hearing it, stop listening to it. Weird Al is a musical genius, it isn't easy to parody songs.

Wasn't bringing that up, not saying you aren't rightfully a Weird Al fanboy or what have you.

What I was saying, is that he is exactly what you accused him not to be. He's smart. I hate to break it to you bud, but these pop songs, note the word "pop" in there, are popular. He made the right choice in parodying them. Or in this case, as I wrote:

Sorry bud, business is business. Won't sell records if he does songs people don't know of. Not to mention it's all stuff anyway, so don't try to argue me there are any more deserving songs.

You just don't seem to want to get that making fun of music can still be done while playing said music. He did it then, he does it now. Deal with it.

I love his music. I might start tapping it on my desk in class. But then I realize and stop myself. I won't have myself accidentally tapping his new crap and people go ":O You like Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga?! XD You're a loving freak." I'm a freak, but I won't be called it for that terrible stuff.

Not to mention even the smallest clip of that terrible stuff slipped into my head makes me go loving INSANE WITH HATE. I will not listen to "Weird Al" and at the same time think those horrible people. I don't want him and them associated. He's cool, they're not.

:panda:... I love him...
