Author Topic: For How Much Would you Buy This Collectable?  (Read 908 times)

Okay, so about 50 or so years ago the Braves first came to Atlanta, this old man my mother works with gave the opening prayer, and received a watch with the Braves logo inside of it, and it has a gold coloring (might be gold, but obviously not pure gold.)

So my question is, how much would you pay for the watch?

Serious answers only please.

$0.

Serious answer.

There is no reason why to have a golden watch or whatever, unless you want people stealing your entire arm on the street.

I'd rather just use my phone or a simple watch in the cereal box.

It's probably just gold coloring.

I have an unopened, black-label copy of FFVII for the PSX. I think it's worth more than your watch. :cookieMonster:

I wouldn't pay anything for it since I don't need a watch. Maybe for a Braves fan, 80 bucks?

I had a $20 watch a couple of months ago, and I was very content with it.
I don't understand why anyone would pay more than $50 for any watch.

gold plated stuff adds zero to the value.
1/20th gram of gold can be stretched to cover an entire platter. it looks pretty but its not "gold"
not to mention the gold content itself is not going to be .999/24k. plate gold would never use high quality stuff.
and it certainly wouldn't be solid gold, because its a sports team trinket. a solid gold watch would be worth 1500.00 a troy ounce. no way it would be that good.

Ok, while I don't particularly love watches, why are you so dumb?

Watches are a business man's status symbol, it shows wealth and competence.

I'd pay Jack, your neighbor.

That would be his suit.

A low-cost watch can easily look expensive and nicer than other expensive watches.

jesus

people are loving crazy to pay that much just to see what the time is
Watch making is an art. Like pen making is as well.
