Author Topic: Good video editing software?  (Read 571 times)

Im looking to make an intro for a clan thing. Know of any good free software that I could use? Links would be helpfull.

Hahahahaha. Your funny.

Unless you have the incredibly grueling amount of time to make a video, make every frame of it a picture, and edit the pictures(frames).

Are you looking for video editing or video effects/generation?  Because they are two very different things.  Basically, Adobe Premier or After Effects? (Not recommending, just asking which one has the features you are looking for)

Well, I want to make an intro. So I just need to make a little clip of our clans logo, and motto. Yes, I would like it to have some cool effects.

That wouldn't be free, bro.

Video editing = taking video that is already produced/shot, trimming clips to desired length, adding transitions and color correction and the like, and rendering a final file

video effects (like in after effects) = taking video that is shot/images/a blank canvas and adding text, effects, animation etc.

this is an example of after effects.  Everything in this video is made with after effects. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PbXak7mhyPo

Can't PM, but that intro was most likely made if after effects.  If you're in school, you can get adobe software pretty cheap: http://www.adobe.com/education/students/
You'll want the Production Premium 5.5.

I've got Sony Vegas, but after watching that, I might buy After Effects. That is intense.

This guy makes tutorials and such for AE.  If you want a feel for what exactly can be accomplished and how it is done, check this out:
