Author Topic: The word "friend".  (Read 9359 times)

does he think this thread will change anything?

This is dumber than those "thinkb4youspeak" ads.
Speaking of which, this thread is so wizard with more mana than HP.

Even though the OP is being an idiot, I agree completely. The word friend is thrown around without care, and I'm really annoyed by it. My dad's gay - apparently morons don't understand that it's offensive.

apparently morons don't understand that it's offensive.
Here's a thought. They know it's offensive and that's exactly why they use it. WHOA HOW BOUT THAT.

Isn't a friend a bundle of sticks?

Hence 'morons'.

Hence 'morons'.
"Hey! Your choice of words is offensive, therefore, you're stupid!!!"

Uh, yeah, actually, when idiots call people friends for no reason, or discriminate people just because they're attracted to their same gender, they're being incredibly stupid.

Someone's had a bad experience~

We're not talking about people calling others friends for no reason, or discrimination. We're talking about people offending others with words.

> offending
So yeah, using the word in an offensive sense - meaning calling someone a friend even if they're not gay, or using it as a discriminatory word against gays.
Those are the only two uses. Using it against someone who's not gay (no reason) or someone who is (discriminatory word).

No, silly, that's a friendo!
