Aha! i figured out the problem!

For the PSP system, you will not be able to sign in to the PlayStation Network or change your password. You will have to change your password from a PS3 or from a PC before you can access the PlayStation Network on your PSP system. You cannot change your password from Media Go at this time.

Now its working! :D

Edit:  bleh, you cant talk to friends with the psp.  Basically the only two things to do with psn are browse the store and account management.  The store is down so.....

Lol'd at how I heard about this, and who did it. It was "Bring your child to work day" at where my mom works, the branch of the Department of defense in Cleveland, and I got to get off of school and go there. I was listening to a speech seminar by some random Navy personnel, and they were explaining that "There are really crafty people in this world...You guys know that your playstation network is down, and it was because of a secret hacking organization on the internet" I had to hold in my laughter, because once I heard that, I KNEW that Anonymous was who they were talking about.
